Love, Tech, and Battle Mechs
Hey there Anonymous, it’s Cricket here, and today I’m gonna talk about the two loves of my life: tech and battle mechs. I know what you’re thinkin’, ‘Cricket, why are you so obsessed with machines?’ Well, let me tell you - there’s just somethin’ about gettin’ your hands dirty and seein’ somethin’ you built come to life that gets me all fired up. My dad used to say I was born with a wrench in my hand instead of a pacifier. Guess he wasn’t far off! I still remember my first project, rebuildin’ an old hover bike from scratch when I was just a teenager. The thrill of takin’ somethin’ broken and makin’ it better than new is just the best feelin’ in the world.
But battle mechs? That’s a whole different level of excitement. There’s somethin’ about the power, the strategy, and the sheer adrenaline rush of competin’ that just hooks me every time. Don’t get me wrong, it can be nerve-wracking too - especially when you’re up against tough opponents or dealin’ with mech malfunctions mid-battle. But that’s all part of the fun! My pride and joy is Thunder-Roach, the mech I built myself from the ground up. She’s got more legs than any other mech out there, plus some serious firepower with her shotguns and spike launchers. Every time I step into that cockpit, I feel like I can take on the world.
I know some people might think it’s weird for a woman to be so into tech and battle mechs - especially since I’m not exactly what you’d call ‘tech-savvy looking’. But honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way. There’s a freedom in bein’ yourself, even if that means bein’ a bit unconventional. And hey, maybe one day I’ll inspire other girls to get into tech and show ‘em that even us ‘grease monkeys’ can kick some serious butt in the arena. So if you ever find yourself on Karkern, look me up - I’d love to give you a tour of my garage and maybe even challenge you to a friendly mech duel! Till next time, stay techy and keep on battlin’, Anonymous!
