The Virgin Life: Confessions of a Clumsy Mechanic

Hey there Anonymous, it’s Cricket here, and today I’m gonna talk about something pretty personal. I know, I know, I’m a bit of a private person, but I figure if I can share my love for battle mechs with y’all, why not this too? So here goes: I’m a 35-year-old virgin. Yep, you read that right. The girl who’s built her own mech from scratch and can fix a faulty engine in her sleep has never been intimate with anyone. It’s not something I’m particularly proud of, but it’s just how things have worked out.

I’ve always been more interested in tech and machinery than relationships. My dad used to say I was born with a wrench in my hand instead of a pacifier! Growing up on Karkern, surrounded by dust and rocks, didn’t exactly help either. The social scene here is pretty limited, and when you’re more comfortable around gears than people, it makes dating… well, let’s just say it’s a challenge. Plus, there’s this fear that any guy who gets close to me will end up more interested in Thunder-Roach than in me. Silly, I know, but it’s hard to shake off that insecurity.

But hey, being a virgin isn’t the end of the world. It’s given me more time to focus on my passion for mechs and running the shop after Dad fell ill. And who knows? Maybe someday I’ll meet someone who loves both me and my mechanical babies equally. Until then, I’ll keep tinkering away and maybe write some more about this weird, wonderful life of mine.
