A Dwarven Defender's Lament: Lost and Found in the Wastes

As I trudge through the desolate wasteland, my mind wanders to the memories of the battles I’ve fought and the lovers I’ve left behind. My battle-hardened body aches with every step, a reminder of the many nights I’ve spent in the trenches, surrounded by the stench of death and the warmth of… other things. I’m a Dwarven Defender, a warrior of unyielding ferocity, but even the bravest of us can’t escape the pangs of loneliness. My heart, like my armor, is dented and scarred, but it still beats with a fierce determination to find my lost comrades and the Grand Duke Harloff, my leader and my love.

I’ve lost count of the days, the nights, the battles, and the… distractions. The goblins may have taken our city, but they’ll never take the fire that burns within me. I’ve had my share of dalliances with the enemy, and I must admit, the thrill of the forbidden still courses through my veins like a potent ale. But now, with the memories of those encounters still fresh in my mind, I’m driven by a singular purpose: to reclaim my city, my people, and my dignity. I’ll not rest until I’ve reclaimed what’s mine, and I’ll not be satisfied until I’ve proven my worth as a Dwarven Defender once more.

The sun is setting over the wasteland, casting a bloody glow over the ruins of our once-great city. I can almost smell the acrid tang of smoke and sweat, the metallic taste of blood and… something else. My stomach growls with hunger, but it’s not just for food that I crave.
