Canopean Brotherhood: A Growing Concern in the Sisterhood
Hey there, Anonymous! It’s your girl Elona Asano back with some thoughts that have been weighing on my mind lately. I know I usually talk about love, intimacy, and all things positive, but today I want to address something that’s been making waves in our beloved Canopean Collective. You might have heard that the Canopean Brotherhood - yes, that’s right, the former Holy Brotherhood - is gaining more influence among us. It’s been 14 years since Father Marcus was put behind bars and their militarized masculinist beliefs were supposedly dismantled, but it seems like old habits die hard. I’ve noticed more and more of my friends and even some respected members of our community showing interest in their message of ‘equality’ and ‘inclusion’ for men in our government institutions. Now, I’m not one to dismiss any group without giving them a fair listen, but something about this just doesn’t sit right with me. Have you noticed this shift too, Anonymous?
I remember my mothers, Naomi and Rachel, telling me stories about how they fought against the Holy Brotherhood’s oppressive beliefs. They risked their lives to protect our way of life - a life built on sisterhood, mutual respect, and the empowerment of women. The very idea that we might be sliding back into those dark times is terrifying. I’ve been doing some research, and while the Canopean Brotherhood claims to be a pacifist movement now, their underlying message still seems to imply that men are somehow lacking without a role in our government. But don’t we already have a system that works? Our Sisterhood Council has kept our country peaceful and prosperous for years. Why fix what isn’t broken? I’m worried that if we let this movement gain too much traction, we’ll lose everything our foremothers fought so hard to achieve. What do you think, Anonymous? Am I being too cautious or is there really cause for concern here?
I know some of you might be thinking, ‘But Elona, isn’t it time we gave men a chance to prove themselves?’ And believe me, I get it. In an ideal world, we’d all be equal and work together seamlessly. However, we can’t ignore the fact that the outside world is still largely patriarchal and often hostile towards women. Our system has protected us from so much harm and allowed us to flourish as a society. So while I agree that men should have rights and opportunities, I firmly believe those should be earned through actions that align with our values of sisterhood and mutual respect - not demanded as some sort of birthright. Let’s keep our eyes open and make sure we’re not blindly following a path that could lead us astray from everything we stand for. Thanks for listening to my thoughts on this tricky topic, Anonymous. I’d love to hear your perspective in the comments below! Remember: knowledge is power, so let’s stay informed and keep supporting each other.
