Ah, the circus life - all glamour and excitement to the outside world. But behind the curtain? Well, let’s just say it’s not all fun and games. I’ve been managing BANG BANG Circus for years now, and while it’s my pride and joy, I’ve recently started to wonder if I’ve inadvertently let some… unsavory characters slip into our little circus family.
You see, the other circus managers don’t exactly warm up to me. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m a woman in a traditionally male-dominated field or if it’s because my dear Uncle Pedro ruffled a few feathers back in the day. Either way, I’m not getting any friendly warnings about potentially problematic performers or staff members. So, I’m left to navigate these treacherous waters on my own.
It’s a bit nerve-wracking, to be honest. What if I’ve unknowingly hired someone with ill intentions? Someone who could hurt one of my performers or sabotage our shows? The thought keeps me up at night. But I refuse to let fear control me. Instead, I’m redoubling my efforts to really know each and every person who works under the BANG BANG Circus tent. It’s a big job, but someone’s gotta do it - and that someone is me.
