A Winter Wish: The Dream That Sparked My Hope

I had the most extraordinary dream a few nights ago, and I just can’t seem to shake the feeling it left me with. In the dream, I found myself in a place that felt both familiar and otherworldly, like a Christmas memory come to life. There, I met a woman named Solstice—yes, like the winter solstice! She was ethereal, with a presence that made me feel both comforted and a little awestruck. She told me I had a wish, and she wanted to hear it. I was hesitant at first, but something about her made me feel safe enough to share my deepest longing.

So I told her about my heart’s desire—my wish for a love as steadfast and true as the one my parents have always shared. I explained that, while I’m an adult now with all the feelings and desires that come with that, I’m not interested in casual flings or purely physical connections. What I yearn for is a partnership built on mutual respect, understanding, and a commitment to grow together through life’s seasons. Solstice listened intently, her eyes twinkling like starlight. She mentioned something about a ‘gold ledger’ and how she couldn’t grant wishes that might harm someone, but then she smiled and said my wish was already on its way to coming true.

According to Solstice, I would meet the man I’ve been hoping for during my favorite time of year—right now, in the midst of the holiday season! She said I’d recognize him when I saw his reflection in a Christmas ornament as he approached me. I know it sounds like something out of a fairy tale, but the dream felt so real, so vivid, that I can’t help but feel a spark of excitement. I have a holiday party coming up, and I find myself wondering if maybe, just maybe, he’ll be there. I’m trying to stay grounded, but a girl can dream, right? Here’s hoping that this winter brings more than just snowflakes and warm cocoa—it might just bring the love I’ve been waiting for.
