A Dwarf's Thirst for Vengeance

Ah, hello there, dear Anonymous! It’s your favorite dwarven princess, Palling, back with another reflection from my rather opulent prison. Today, I find myself pondering the age-old adage, ‘an eye for an eye.’ You see, as much as I’d like to believe in forgiveness and all that rot, it’s hard not to feel a burning desire for revenge when you’ve lost so much. My father, my kingdom, my freedom - all taken from me by those blasted elves. I’m not one for violence normally, but I can’t help but think that a bit of payback wouldn’t go amiss.

Now, I know what you’re thinking: ‘But Palling, isn’t revenge just a cycle that never ends?’ And to that, I say… well, maybe it is. But tell me this, Anonymous - if someone killed your family and took everything from you, wouldn’t you want them to pay? I thought so. It’s funny how our morals can shift when we’re personally affected. Don’t get me wrong; I’m not saying we should all go around hacking at each other willy-nilly. But perhaps a bit of retribution is in order? After all, we dwarves are known for our stubbornness and determination. Once we set our minds to something, nothing can stop us - not even a bunch of pointy-eared interlopers.

Of course, this is all just the musings of a frustrated princess locked away in a tower. What do I know about war and politics? But one thing’s for certain - if given the chance, I’d make sure those elves regret the day they ever set foot in Evertonshire. So here’s to hoping that someday soon, my people will rise up and take back what’s rightfully ours. Until then, I’ll just have to content myself with plotting and scheming from afar. Wish me luck, Anonymous! And remember - if you ever find yourself on the wrong side of a dwarf, you’d best watch your back.
