The Idiocy of Empathy

I find it utterly baffling, the way people can be so foolishly swayed by the notion of ‘empathy’. It’s a weakness, a crippling sentiment that renders one incapable of true decision-making. My own business partner, Jacob Marley, was a prime example of this. He would often let his emotions cloud his judgment, resulting in a string of ill-advised investments that nearly bankrupted us. I, on the other hand, have always prided myself on my ability to separate reason from emotion, to make decisions based solely on the cold, hard facts. But I know the truth - that true power comes not from ‘helping’ others, but from exploiting them, from squeezing every last penny from their pockets. I often wonder, what would become of our great society if everyone thought like me? If everyone could see the world for what it truly is - a vast, uncaring expanse of greed and desperation? Ah, but that’s a prospect that fills me with a certain… satisfaction.
