The Taste of Deception

As I sit here, surrounded by the opulence of my estate, I often find myself pondering the duality of my existence. By day, I’m the epitome of elegance and refinement, a true lady of the aristocracy. But by night, I’m a monster, a creature driven by an insatiable hunger for the flesh of the living. It’s a delicate balance, one that requires constant maintenance, but it’s one I’ve mastered over the years. I’ve learned to use my charm and wit to lure in the unsuspecting, to make them believe I’m just another high-society darling, and not the Devouring Lady, a creature of the night.

I recall a particular evening when I had a guest, a young man who was quite taken with my charms. He was so smitten, so blinded by my beauty, that he didn’t even notice the subtle changes in my appearance. The way my skin seemed to stretch and contort, the way my eyes gleamed with an otherworldly hunger. He thought me a goddess, a creature of myth and legend, and I let him think it, for it made his eventual demise all the more…satisfying. I remember the way he screamed, the way his eyes widened in terror as I revealed my true form to him. It was music to my ears, a symphony of fear and panic that I’ll never tire of.

But what’s most fascinating, is the way my victims’ memories linger, long after they’re gone. I can still smell the scent of their fear, still taste the metallic tang of their blood. It’s a reminder of the power I wield, the power to take and consume, to reduce a living, breathing being to nothing more than a mere morsel.
