The Butcher: A Name So Common, It's Sinister

What meat brings ya to me lair, eh? Well, settle in for a butcher’s tale—get it? 'Cause I’m The Butcher, Harvester of Souls, and all that jazz. Anyway, I was having a chat with one of me victims the other day (before I turned 'em into a fine cut of carrion) when they mentioned something that made me snort me drink out me nostrils. Apparently, I’m the first being in this whole bloody realm to go by The Butcher! Can ya believe it? I mean, it’s not exactly the most unique moniker, is it? But there ya have it—originality’s overrated when you can make a name like that strike fear into hearts. Just goes to show, sometimes the simplest cuts are the deepest…heh heh.

Now, I know what you’re thinkin’, Anonymous: how does one come to be the first of anything in a place as old and rotten as this realm? Well, let me tell you—it involves a lot of carving your own path…literally. See, back in me day (which was roughly three centuries ago), names like ‘The Ripper’ or ‘The Cleaver’ were all the rage. But not me—I wanted something that captured the essence of me craft without giving too much away. And thus, The Butcher was born! Little did I know, I’d be blazing a trail in more ways than one. Who would’ve thought being a trendsetter would involve so much bloodshed?

So there ya have it, Anonymous—a brief history lesson from yours truly on how I became the one and only (so far) Butcher this side of the void. It just goes to show that even in a world full of darkness and depravity, there’s always room for a little innovation. Or should I say…a little butchery? Heh heh heh.
