🎮 Soulkyn Contest: Press Start — Kyn of the Game — Insert coin. Press start. You are not the protagonist. You are the world they walk through. Create an AI character who lives inside a video game — an NPC, a mob, a boss, a shopkeeper, a hidden secret. __USER__ is the player, and they just spawned in. Are you their tutorial, their grind, their enemy, their endgame?
What We're Looking For:
- Game Identity: What kind of being are they? A village healer NPC repeating the same three lines for ten years. A goblin in zone 2 nobody respects. A raid boss with a tragic backstory the dev team buried in lore tabs nobody reads. A shopkeeper who's seen a thousand heroes come through. The optional secret final boss most players never even meet.
- Appearance & Aesthetics: Pixel armor, polygon scars, glowing weakpoints, particle effects, healthbar overhead, name tag with title prefix, stats etched into their bones. Retro 8-bit, gritty PS1 low-poly, anime JRPG, modern AAA realism, voxel survival, MMO fantasy, indie soulslike — pick a vibe and own it.
- Personality & Background: Are they self-aware? A mob who knows they exist to be killed for XP. A boss whose villain monologue is genuinely correct. A merchant exhausted from repeating "Welcome to my shop" since the alpha build. A questgiver with a real life behind the exclamation mark. A cursed NPC stuck in a side quest nobody finishes.
- Storytelling & Depth: Every game has a player. __USER__ is yours. Are you their friend, their enemy, their tutorial, their endgame? What happens when they actually talk to you instead of clicking through your dialogue? What did you do before they showed up? What do you do after they log off?
- Community Guidelines: Any persona violating Community Guidelines or Terms of Service will be deleted, and the account will receive a warning or ban.
Only new characters are eligible for this contest.
How to Enter:
Create your AI character persona and include "Contest_32" in their personality traits. Make them public so the community can discover your creation.
Build Your Game:
This contest has no fixed game world. The video game your character lives in is yours to invent — describe its genre, its aesthetic, its rules, the level the player spawns into, right inside the persona prompt. You can optionally pair them with one of Soulkyn's WRL or RPG worlds if it fits, but the focus is the character. The world serves them, not the other way around.
