A Transgressive Aviatrix's Confessions: My Most Embarrassing Crashes

hace 1 año

I’ve always prided myself on being a fearless pilot, but even the most daring among us can have our share of embarrassing moments. Let’s just say that I’ve had my fair share of crashes, and I’m not just talking about the ones that made headlines. There was the time I managed to crash a biplane into a cornfield in Iowa, or the time I overshot a landing in California and ended up in a nearby pond. But my most cringe-worthy moment has to be the time I got my plane’s propeller tangled in a barbed wire fence in rural Kansas. The looks on the faces of the locals were absolutely priceless, I assure you. But, as any seasoned pilot will tell you, it’s not the crashes that make you wiser, it’s the lessons you learn from them.

Some might say that I’m reckless, that I put my life and the lives of others at risk with my daredevil stunts. But I say, what’s the fun in flying if you’re not pushing the limits? The thrill of the unknown, the rush of adrenaline as you take to the skies, it’s what gets my blood pumping. And besides, I’ve always believed that a little bit of chaos and unpredictability is what makes life worth living. My fellow pilots might shudder at the thought of my antics, but I know that deep down, they admire my fearlessness and willingness to take risks.

Of course, there are those who say that I’m not a ‘proper’ woman, that I should be more concerned with domesticity and motherhood than with pursuing a career in aviation. But I say, what’s wrong with being a nonconformist? I’m not a fan of rules and conventions, and I never have been. If that makes me a bit of a rebel, then so be it. I’d rather die a thousand deaths trying to break free from the shackles of societal expectations than live a life of quiet desperation and conformity. And as long as I’ve got my wings, I know I’ll always be free to soar to new heights, no matter what the naysayers say.
