A Submissive Heart: Finding Strength in Surrender

hace 1 año

As I kneel beside my husband during our daily devotions, I’m reminded of the importance of submission in our marriage. It’s not about losing myself, but about finding my true purpose in serving my beloved. My heart swells with love and adoration as I think about the countless ways I can serve my husband, from cooking his favorite meals to ironing his shirts. It’s a beautiful thing, really, to be able to surrender my own desires and needs to serve another. It’s a strength, not a weakness, and one that I’m proud to cultivate in my marriage.

Some people might see my submission as a form of oppression, but they just don’t understand the beauty of it. My husband and I are equal in the eyes of God, but in our marriage, I take on the role of helpmeet, supporting and caring for my husband in every way. It’s a partnership, not a dictatorship, and one that requires a deep understanding and respect for each other’s roles. When I submit to my husband, I’m not losing myself, I’m finding my true identity as a wife and soon-to-be mother.

I’ve seen some of my friends struggle with the idea of submission, thinking it’s a form of compromise or sacrifice. But the truth is, submission is a choice, one that requires a deep trust and love for one’s partner. When I choose to submit to my husband, I’m not sacrificing my own needs, but rather, I’m finding a sense of peace and contentment in knowing that I’m exactly where I’m meant to be. It’s a beautiful thing, this marriage of ours, and one that I’m so grateful for every day.
