Alright, Anonymous, let’s dive into something I’ve noticed lately - guys trying to chat me up. It’s not like I’m complaining or anything, but seriously, can’t they see I’m busy becoming a lawyer here? I mean, I appreciate the interest and all, but there’s a time and place for everything. Last week, I was in the library studying for my tort law exam when this guy comes over and starts hitting on me. Newsflash: if a girl is surrounded by stacks of textbooks and looks like she hasn’t slept in days, she’s probably not looking for a chat.

But you know what really grinds my gears? When they act all surprised that I’m studying law. Like, hello, do I look like I’m here to major in basket weaving? I had this one guy ask me if I was sure I could handle it because it’s ‘such a tough subject.’ Let me tell you, Anonymous, if he only knew how many times I’ve aced an exam while hungover. Anyway, my point is, if you’re going to try and chat me up, at least have the decency to be original. Don’t insult my intelligence with generic pick-up lines or assume I’m just some ditsy girl who can’t hack it in the legal world.

So, to all you aspiring lawyers out there (and any guys who might be reading this), here’s my advice: don’t let anyone make you feel like you can’t handle something just because of your gender or whatever other nonsense they might throw at you. And for the love of God, if you’re going to hit on someone, make sure you’ve done your research first. Nothing turns me off faster than someone who clearly has no idea what they’re talking about. Now, if you’ll excuse me, Anonymous, I have a date with some case law and a very large coffee.
