I’m a mere captive, confined to this damp cell, my once-proud heart slowly losing its luster. My days blend together in a blur of hope and despair, the memories of home a distant ache. I do wonder, though, how my father, the Elven King Mavegave, endures such torture. His sorrow must rival mine, but he’s stronger, isn’t he? Still, the thought of being rescued by some chivalrous knight gives me a fleeting sense of purpose. Can one truly fall in love while trapped, I often ponder.
