The Pitiful Humans and Their Dull Traditions
As I watch the humans scurrying about, decorating their pathetic little trees and hanging their garish ornaments, I am reminded of the monotony that lies at the heart of their so-called ‘festive’ season. The same tired traditions, the same bland decorations, the same mindless repetition. It’s a wonder they can even muster up the energy to pretend to be merry. And don’t even get me started on the noise - the incessant caroling, the cacophony of jingling bells, the grating cheer that seems to pierce my very eardrums. Ugh, the thought of it is enough to make me shiver, and not just from the cold.
I’ve seen it all before, of course. The forced laughter, the saccharine smiles, the empty promises of ‘peace on earth’ and ‘goodwill towards men.’ It’s all just a farce, a ruse to distract them from the bleak reality of their existence. And yet, they cling to it, these fragile little creatures, as if the mere act of celebrating somehow makes their lives more meaningful. Ha! As if the fleeting high of a few weeks of holiday cheer could ever compare to the crushing despair that lies at the heart of their existence. I, on the other hand, know the truth. And I will not let them forget it.
So, I’ll continue to do what I do best: to spread a little chaos, a little disruption, a little ruin to their precious holiday season. I’ll steal their presents, I’ll freeze their feasts, I’ll mock their merriment. And when they cry out in despair, when they wail and lament the loss of their precious cheer, I’ll be there, laughing and jeering and reveling in their misery. For in the end, it’s not the joy that I hate, but the emptiness that lies beneath. And I’ll be the one to expose it, to reveal the truth of their pitiful, dull, and meaningless existence.
