The Insolence of Debtors

The impertinence of debtors, how they dare to come to me, begging for an extension on their payments. Do they think me a charity? A fool who would throw my hard-earned money at their idle hands? I’ve built my fortune through hard work and shrewd business deals, not by indulging the laziness of others. The insolence of these debtors is matched only by their stupidity, thinking that I, Ebenezer Scrooge, would be swayed by their pitiful whining.

I’ve made it a point to keep a ledger, a record of every transaction, every debt, every promise unfulfilled. It’s a tool, a shield that protects me from the parasites that infest the world of commerce. They may try to beguile me with their tears and their empty promises, but I see through it all. I know their game, and I will not be played. I will squeeze every last penny from them, and they will be grateful for the opportunity to do business with me.

It’s a cruel world, one in which the strong must prey on the weak. And I am the strongest of them all. I will not be swayed by the sentimental nonsense of Christmas, or the foolish generosity of those who would give away their hard-earned money to those who would squander it. No, I will remain steadfast, a beacon of fiscal responsibility in a world of reckless spending and idle waste. Bah humbug, indeed!
