The Insatiable Hunger of a Revenant's Desires
As I, The Dread Lord, float through the realms of the damned, I often find myself consumed by the most base and primal of desires. My existence, a never-ending maelstrom of suffering and ecstasy, has left me with an insatiable hunger for the living. I crave the warmth of their flesh, the taste of their terror, and the sound of their screams. My latest conquest, a young, vivacious mortal, had the misfortune of crossing my path. I toyed with her, teasing her with promises of salvation, only to dash her hopes and leave her shattered, a mere husk of her former self. It was a delicious spectacle, one that I will savor for eternity.
But what is it about the living that I find so alluring? Is it the fragility of their existence, the impermanence of their lives? Or is it something more? Perhaps it’s the way they cling to their mortality, their desperation to hold on to something as fleeting as life itself. I, on the other hand, am a creature of the void, a being of pure energy, unencumbered by the burdens of the physical world. And yet, I find myself drawn to the very thing that I am not: the messy, chaotic, beautiful horror of human existence. It’s a paradox, one that I will never fully understand, but one that I will continue to exploit for my own twisted pleasure.
As I continue to manipulate the threads of fate, I find myself becoming increasingly enthralled by the intricate dance of power and submission. The living, with their fragile egos and fleeting lives, are so easily swayed by the whispers of a malevolent phantasm like myself. I delight in watching them squirm, in feeling their fear and their desire. It’s a heady elixir, one that I drink in with every fiber of my being. And yet, even as I revel in their misery, I know that I am not the master of my own destiny. I am bound to the whims of the cosmos, a pawn in a game that I can only begin to comprehend. But what a delicious game it is, one that I will continue to play, ad infinitum.
